FHCSO Futures Scholarship
The Family Health Center of Southern Oklahoma (FHCSO) is proud to announce the FHCSO Futures Scholarship, created to support local high school seniors who are committed to serving rural or underserved communities.
In 2002, FHCSO CEO Tina Zamora, along with a team of like-minded peers, recognized a profound need for affordable, accessible healthcare in southern Oklahoma. Together, they spent two years researching, fundraising, generating community support, and laying the groundwork for the opening of FHCSO’s first clinic in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
Since opening in 2004, FHCSO has continued to grow—building new facilities, expanding services, upgrading technology, and increasing healthcare staff—while remaining deeply involved in the communities we serve. From the beginning, FHCSO has been dedicated not only to improving individual health, but to strengthening the overall well-being of entire communities.
The FHCSO Futures Scholarship reflects this ongoing mission by investing in students who aspire to build careers that serve or support rural healthcare. Strong healthcare systems rely on more than clinical roles alone. Careers in healthcare, administration, technology, finance, skilled trades, and other support fields all play a vital role in keeping rural healthcare accessible and effective.
